REYES RAMIREZ CULTIVATING NARCOTIC HABIT IN YOUNG BOYS What the Narc’s were claiming California - Sacramento NEWSPAPER ACCOUNTS: WOODLAND DAILY DEMOCRAT (Woodland, California) [S]- Thursday, August 29, 1935 - Pg 5 - “Sacramento Opens Drive on Marijuana Traffic” SACRAMENTO--City, county and state narcotic officers struck two stinging blows at Sacramento’s marijuana traffic. Charged with cultivating a narcotic habit in young boys to boost the demand for his marijuana cigarets, Reyes Ramirez, 30, was seized by Sergeant E.J. Cox and Detective Arthur Thomas. Meanwhile, sheriff’s deputies uncovered a field of marijuana growing on Southern Pacific property near Galt. The plants valued at several hundred dollars, were cleverly camouflaged by corn stalks.
