IS IT THE "WAR ON DRUGS"
OR A "WAR ON BLACKS"?

DARE TO KNOW
the truth about the origin of the Anti-Medical Marihuana Laws
War On Black

Were Oklahoma’s anti-Medical Marihuana laws racist in origin?   The answer seems to be YES.

And while there is much room for debate, what is 100 percent certain is exactly who was being arrested (aka targeted) under the new laws; -- BLACKS AND MEXICANS.   Need proof, -- As per the archives of “The Oklahoman” (a major newspaper) below is a short (but complete) listing of ALL Oklahomans arrested (1930-1940) for violating the newly passed marihuana laws.   NOTE the ethnicity of the names of those arrested.   Also note that no guesses are being taken when the word [Negro] appears after the name of the arrested person – the newspaper article made mention of the fact.

Note:   To the best of our knowledge, ALL arrests (made within Oklahoma), as noted in "The Oklahoman", have been cataloged.

NAME TOTALS
Mexican sounding 29
White people sounding 18
Black (as mentioned) 11

Again, whether this was intended as a racist law or not is debatable, but judging from those last names, it sure sounds like racism to most of us.

NOTES:
Obviously, some spelling errors (regarding the names) either originally by the paper or by the transcriber have been made.   Also Rito Lozana (who was one of Harry Anslinger’s Gore File cases) is counted 3 times as he was arrested 3 times.
