BEFORE THE COMING OF THE ANTI-MEDICAL CANNABIS LAWS
ILLINOIS ---- As can be seen from the list (see below) of Cannabis Medical Manufacturers played an important role in the history, not just of medicine, but specifically of Medical Cannabis as well. In fact, one of the manufacturers (Abbott Lab’s) continued to manufacture and sell Medical Cannabis Medicines well into the 1950’s. Or well past the passage of the infamous M.T.A. (Marihuana Tax Act) which (at the height of the great depression) placed a $1 an oz, tax --- effectively putting an end to all Cannabis in this country in all but name.
BUT instead of us talking about it, maybe it would be best to allow the Medicines to speak for themselves.
WARNING: Documentation, mostly in the form of old pharmaceutical ‘Sales Price and Product’ catalogs, medical journal ad’s etc., proving that these pharmaceutical manufacturers made use of Medicinal Cannabis is available. HOWEVER, SOME of the below listed companies (example Sears, Roebuck & Co.), -- yeah that Sears – in all probability had all their medicines manufactured by an external medical compounder, with Sears simply selling the product under their own label.
