THE FILM INDUSTRY AND THE COMING OF THE ANTI-MEDICAL MARIHUANA LAWS
HARRY ANSLINGER'S FEDERAL BUREAU OF NARCOTICS
– ESTABLISHES ITS OWN INDEX AND COLLECTION:
Surprisingly enough it seems that Harry Anslinger’s own Bureau of Narcotics had amassed their own collection of Reefer Madness Era films. And it appears that it was sizeable enough, that had they chosen too, would have allowed them to have put together a mini film festival of their own.
The list below was located via the National Archives in College Park, Md. . Note however, that only about half of them seem to deal with the Reefer Madness Campaign itself.
NATIONAL ARCHIVES:
Harry Anslinger’s Motion Picture Archives: Record Group 170, Records of the Drug enforcement Agency, Finding Aid for Entry 9, Records of the bureau of narcotics and dangerous drugs.

MUSEUM NOTES:
- Some transcription errors [from the original documents] are possible, in fact very likely.
- Although listed as found in the National Archives, it is interesting to note that by placing them in numerical order, they seem then to be listed in chronological order.
- Few of us have seen (even some) of the above motion pictures and thus know little about the contents therein.
WANT TO KNOW MORE: =====================

displayed. If you would like to obtain more information, feel
